Dr. Sekyeong Seong ranks as one of the best international pianists, competing with the top pianists worldwide, winning major awards and prizes in national and international competitions in Asia and the US. She has won many other significant awards, winning 1st prize in the American Protégé International Competition that resulted in an invitation to perform in Carnegie Hall in New York City in February 2014. Because of her stirring performance at Carnegie Hall, Sekyeong was additionally awarded the Best Performance Award. Her success at the American Protégé International Competition and brilliant performance at the Winner’s Recital were widely covered by numerous newspapers in US and South Korea.

Her artistic performances have been broadcasted through Korea Broadcast Station (KBS), the Columbus Ohio radio station Classical 101, and WOSU television.

Sekyeong has performed in numerous music halls: Youngsan Art Hall, Yeonji Hall, Mozart Hall, Art Space Hall, and Somlee Culture and Art Hall in South Korea. After coming to the US for her DMA in Piano Performance studies, Sekyeong continued to expand her influence with performances at Carnegie Hall, Severance Hall (home of the Cleveland Orchestra), Weigel Hall, Hughes Hall, Mershon Hall, Jemison Hall, Chapelear Drama Center, Graves Hall, The King Arts Complex, Instituto Cervantes of Chicago, Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center, Contemporary Music Festivals and National Conferences. 

Sekyeong has been winning competitions, since the age of 8. She won the Honam Competition, which is hosted by Seoul Economic Daily Newspaper and the Kikwang Art Competition. She was the 2nd place winner of the Korea-Germany Brahms Association International Competition (2006). She was also invited to several musical festivals including Eumyeon Piano Academy in Korea, where she attended a master class with renowned Korean pianist, Jinwoo Jung. She made her debut as a soloist with the Hungarian Soloist Chamber Orchestra under Maestro Kerry Stratton. She performed concerto in D minor No.1, Op.17, by Camille Saint-Saens. Sekyeong became the only recipient to have received two 1st place awards from the concerto competition of Wonkwang University and the annual Wonkwang Competition. She played Concerto No. 1, Op.11 by, F. Chopin and Piano concerto No.2, Op.18, by S. Rachmaninoff with the Wonkwang Philharmonic Orchestra.
