Dr. Sekyeong Seong is a solo/collaborative pianist, educator and scholar, who is renowned internationally across Asia and the US, for her stellar performances and teaching prowess. Since 2001, she has performed both as a soloist and as a chamber musician, sharing her artistic vision at major festivals and concert series. She continues to inspire and to entertain audiences at recitals and concert across the globe.
Sekyeong is presently on the piano faculty of Evergreen Valley College, Community School of Music and Arts and Pacific Music Academy in the Bay Area of California. Sekyeong is also the founder and director of Dr. Seong Piano Studio and she teaches music to accomplish students. She instills passion in her highly-skilled music major students and musicians. She serves as an instructor of music history, music theory, sight-reading, and ear-training. She offers customized curriculum for ABSRM, RCM, and CM Tests.
Sekyeong received her Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Performance from The Ohio State University (OSU), while concurrently serving as a Graduate Teaching Associate for both music major and non-music major students. She obtained a 2nd Master's degree in Piano Performance from OSU. She received the Academic Research Scholarship and graduated with her 1st Master’s degree from South Korea's prestigious Kyunghee University.
